Introduction to the Symposium

Asia-Pacific Medical Students' Symposium (APMSS) is an international forum hosted by the National Taiwan University School of Medicine for domestic and foreign medical students. We invite medical students from the Asia-Pacific region to participate in a week-long symposium, where the activities will mainly focus on academic and cultural exchange. We hope that APMSS will allow medical students from various countries to connect with each other and give domestic students a wider, more international mindset of the world. As the COVID-19 gradually improves, APMSS will resume a physical forum this year and hope to invite lecturers and students from around the world to discuss the latest topics in the medical field, communicate across cultures, discuss, and learn from each other!

Pioneering the Future of Healthcare: MedTech Innovation

The main theme of this symposium is "AI-Enhanced Healthcare". In recent years, science and technology has developed rapidly to achieve many breakthroughs: 5G technology, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and more amazing discoveries which have contributed to improving medical care, industrial change, and innovation. AI-Enhanced Healthcare will undoubtedly be an increasing trend in modern medical care — not only will it improve the efficiency and quality of medical services, but also assist in accurate decision-making and personalized medical services. We hope that this symposium can serve as a platform to bring experts, physicians, and medical students from all nations to discuss this topic. Through this symposium, we hope that medical students will broaden their horizons, exchange ideas, learn from each other, and create a new era of medical care together!

Furthermore, we have added a sub-theme of “Sports Medicine” to allow experts from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences from different perspectives, ranging from doctors, physical therapists, rehabilitation personnel, counselors, and more. We hope this discussion allows participants to understand the various aspects of “sports medicine”.
